DIY Scalp Scrub

Create Pray Love | DIY Scalp Srub

DIY Friday | Post #20

Helllooooooo my lovelies!

This afternoon I’m excited to do my second-ever DIY health & beauty blog post for you guys. Like I’ve said before, I’m no beauty guru, but sometimes I stumble upon something on Pinterest that I just have to try out and share with you!

Last weekend, I found this article on Hello Glow with three different scalp scrub recipes, and went to work. Keep reading to see which one I went with!

All three recipes are really easy, and the first one I wanted to do was #3 (the deep cleansing scrub), but I didn’t have any lemons or lemon juice hangin’ around the kitchen, so I ended up making the exfoliating scrub.

I don’t use any hair care products on a normal basis (other than shampoo), so I don’t have an issue with that type of buildup. BUT- I do get dandruff, so I was definitely looking forward to see how it felt to deep clean my scalp with natural ingredients.

The recipe for this scrub is:
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons finely ground oatmeal
  • 2 tablespoons conditioner

See the original article here for full instructions!

I did kind of mess up while I was mixing everything together, because I don’t think I ground up the oatmeal as much as I should have. You can definitely still see some of the big pieces. Hah…

But I do have to say that using the scalp scrub felt really nice & relaxing! Afterwards my scalp did feel tingly and a little extra clean. I also love the smell of the brown sugar combined with my conditioner.

I may try another one of the scalp scrubs some time this weekend, and I’m excited! Do you think you’ll try one out for yourself? Which one are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments!
