Organizing My Craft Supplies | Craft Room Challenge 2018

Organizing My Craft Supplies- Craft Room Challenge 2018

Well, I am definitely super late with this post! Sorry, friends! Just to recap, this post is a summary of Week 3 of the Craft Room Challenge, where I focused on organizing my craft supplies. And suffice it to say that this challenge has definitely been a little harder than expected for some of us.

Although Week 3 wasn’t really that tough to get through per say, I think I’m late on this post because I was a teensy bit burned out from Week 2 where I purged & sorted my craft supplies. Sigh. But, better late than never, right? I am excited with the progress I made, and that I finally am showing it to you!

Don’t forget to read through to the end to check out all the other Week 3 posts. They are all amazing!

Week 3 Goals & Results

Goal #1: Organize my fabric nicely in each of the containers

Results: I did it! I tidied up the fabric, sorted it again, and folded all the pieces up nicely.

Goal #2: Make pretty labels for my craft supply boxes

Results: I think I’ll make a separate post on just how I made these labels. But I basically had to print them out from my computer if I wanted them to look nice because I don’t own a Cricut machine. And I love how they turned out! Everything looks much more organized now on my craft supplies shelf! Also, I can never resist a good typewriter font. 😉

And as you can see in the following picture, I also reused an extra fabric bag I had sitting around in my supplies to be the new home for my faux flowers. It fits all of them perfectly, and it also looks way better than the Ziploc I’d been using!

Goal #3: Try to find better jars for organizing my toolbox

Results: Last week, I used two mismatched jars from my kitchen to organize some of my tools. But I wanted things to look a bit more cohesive, so two wide-mouth mason jars from the craft store definitely did the trick!

Goal #4: Create a system for in-progress projects

Results: One of my goals for this challenge was to find a place to keep my projects that aren’t quite finished. As I admitted in my craft room makeover goals post a few weeks back, my in-progress projects usually end up on a few surfaces throughout our home. Well, my solution was to buy a second basket for our room that would be dedicated to those projects! I love how it hides the clutter, & it’s the perfect size for the job!

Takeaways from Week 3: Organizing My Craft Supplies

I’m in love with the labels I made for my craft supplies. That is definitely the favorite thing I did this week!

Goals for Week 3: Cleaning & Decorating!

  • Wipe down all of my craft supply shelves
  • Clean the den (floors, baseboards, & closet)
  • Decorate near my desk

Love those new labels, I may have to utilize something like that in my cabinets! (That’s where I hid what I didn’t get organize in this challenge, ha!) Looks great!

It’s looking good and I like that you have your own tools. I think I need to make myself a toolbox too 🙂
